Peter Townshend, JD, MBA: Peter brings a wealth of finance and legal experience to MVP. As an attorney with two of the most sought-after law firms (currently Allen Matkins Leck Gamble & Mallory, and formerly Heller Ehrman White & McAuliffe), his law practice has included corporate maintenance, venture capital financing, mergers and acquisitions, venture fund formation, licensing, executive compensation and public offerings.

Peter's clients have included emerging growth companies and venture capital investors in a range of high technology and life sciences industries. Peter has represented venture capital firms such as Sequoia Capital, RWI Group, Brentwood Associates, The Cambria Group, Frazier & Co., Kline Hawkes, Merchants Group International and US Venture Partners, who were making investments in companies such as Aerogen, ProxiNet, Transoft, POINT Biomedical and Cardiac Mariners.

Peter has also represented biotechnology and medical device startup companies, such as Atrionix, Appriva Medical, Cepheid, Mitralife, Naxcor and Thoratec Laboratories. He has represented Internet, software and other high technology companies such as AimTV (sold to NetZero), Alliance Semiconductor, BuyMedia, eBay, Interwoven, iVAST, Keynote Systems, Netranscend (sold to Mediaplex), smartshop.com, and Wherify Wireless.

Peter earned his BA from Yale University and his MBA with an emphasis in Finance from the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business. He received his JD from the University of California, Berkeley, Boalt Hall School of Law where he was Associate Editor of International Tax and Business Lawyer. Peter and his wife live in San Diego, CA.
