Alan Lattanner

Alan Lattanner has 25 years of experience with P&L responsibility in the software, environmental and energy industries. Alan was founder of Eqqua (environmental risk management software, 1990s), Software Express (computer VAR, 1980s), and Foothill Copper (mining, 1970s). Alan started his career in remote sensing after obtaining a Master of Science degree in engineering geoscience at UC Berkeley.

Alan worked for the French mining giant Pechiney and Geonomics, a UC Berkeley energy technology spinout, before being recruited by Unocal's geothermal division to launch and build a remote sensing capability.  At Unocal, Alan led assignments in the Philippines and Indonesia, and ultimately helped discover a major geothermal resource on the island of Java.

Alan attended Golden Gate University's executive program and earned an MBA degree in 1989. Seeking another venture and yearning to get back to his roots, he saw opportunity in the emerging market for environmental technologies and joined Woodward-Clyde Consultants, a closely held leader in the field, and rose to senior partner level by 1996. His experience there led to founding Eqqua and development of a client/server software program, Eqqua Financial Engineer. Using this tool and its predecessors Alan quantified over $1.5 billion in corporate environmental liability for the Fortune 500 during the 1990s, for M&A and SEC reporting.

Currently Alan is working on his fourth startup, Blue Iguana Networks, in San Jose.
